Renault Kadjar for Sale - Your Ideal Family SUV

The Renault Kadjar offered 1.2 and 1.3 TCe turbo petrol engines (130-160 hp) and 1.5/1.7 Blue dCi diesel engines (115-150 hp), with front-wheel drive standard and 4x4 available on the 1.7 dCi. The 1.3 TCe with 140 hp and EDC automatic was the most popular combination in Portugal. The Kadjar was discontinued in 2022, replaced by the Austral.

Used Renault Kadjar prices in Portugal range from EUR 12,000 for 2015-2017 1.5 dCi models to EUR 24,000 for well-equipped 2021-2022 facelift versions. The 4x4 diesel variant commands a EUR 2,000-3,000 premium. The Kadjar offers strong value compared to the Nissan Qashqai (with which it shares a platform) and undercuts most European C-SUV competitors on price.

The Kadjar and Qashqai share the same CMF-C platform, engines, and transmissions, making them mechanically very similar. The Kadjar typically offers more equipment for less money in the Portuguese market, while the Qashqai provides slightly better ride comfort and higher perceived quality. The Qashqai's newer generation (2021+) introduced a more significant gap in technology, but the Kadjar remains competitive on value.

The 1.2 TCe engine (pre-2019 models) is prone to piston ring and cylinder wear issues, potentially requiring engine replacement. The 1.3 TCe addressed this with a redesigned block and is significantly more reliable. The EDC dual-clutch gearbox needs regular fluid changes, and the infotainment system can be slow to respond. Check for water ingress around the tailgate seal, which can cause boot dampness.

The 1.5 Blue dCi diesel Kadjar achieves approximately 5.0-6.0 L/100km in mixed driving, excellent for a C-segment crossover. The 1.3 TCe petrol returns around 6.5-7.5 L/100km in mixed conditions. The 4x4 diesel variant adds approximately 0.5-1.0 L/100km to consumption figures. No hybrid or electric option was offered, which limits the Kadjar's appeal for eco-conscious Portuguese buyers.
