Pre-orders are open, and the figure that matters is this: the Zeekr 7GT starts at around €55,450 in Portugal, with first deliveries due in July 2026. For that money you get a premium electric estate just under 4.82 metres long, with up to 655 km of WLTP range and — the real trump card — the fastest charging of any EV currently on sale in Europe.

Zeekr is Geely's premium brand, from the same group that owns Volvo, Polestar, Smart and Lotus. The 7GT isn't an SUV or a saloon: it's a shooting brake, a sporty estate with a sloping roofline, styled by a Swedish-led design team. The target is clear — German luxury wagons, the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake in particular — but with an entry price that leaves them behind.

What sets the Zeekr 7GT apart: 480 kW charging

This is the technical headline. The 7GT rides on an 800V architecture and peaks at a DC charging rate of 480 kW. Zeekr itself calls it the fastest-charging EV on sale in Europe, and the numbers back it up: the 75 kWh version does 10–80% in 13 minutes, and the 100 kWh version in 16 minutes. In both cases, ten minutes on a powerful charger returns roughly 340 km of range.

In practice, this changes how you treat long trips. A coffee stop at an A1 service area is enough to refill most of the battery. Even on the more common 150 kW chargers across Portugal's MOBI.E network (the national public charging system), the 7GT pulls the full available power and completes the same 10–80% in around 34 minutes. AC charging tops out at 22 kW, above the usual 11 kW, and there's 3.3 kW V2L to run equipment straight from the car.

Zeekr 7GT range: from 519 to 655 km WLTP

The range is built on two batteries. The base 75 kWh unit (LFP chemistry) claims 519 km WLTP. The 100 kWh gross pack — a CATL QILIN with NMC cells and 96 kWh usable — raises the bar: the Long Range RWD reaches 655 km WLTP, while the Privilege AWD sits at 558 km WLTP, taxed by its second motor.

Those are catalogue figures, and Portuguese reality will trim a slice — especially on the motorway and in winter. EV Database estimates around 550 km of real-world range for the Long Range RWD, with consumption near 169 Wh/km. For most drivers that means Lisbon–Porto without a stop, or a full week of city commuting without plugging in. The heat pump is standard, which helps limit cold-weather range loss.

Spec sheet: dimensions, power and space

The 7GT is a proper D-segment estate: 4,817 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, 1,456 mm tall, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. It weighs about 2,285 kg and offers 456 litres of boot plus a 65-litre front frunk. It tows up to 1,600 kg braked.

On performance, the rear-wheel-drive version with 421 hp does 0–100 km/h in 5.3 seconds — more than enough. The flagship 646 hp AWD cuts that to 3.3 seconds, though the French press notes the car feels "comfortable but overwhelmed by its own power." Top speed is 210 km/h across the range.

Inside, Zeekr goes all in: a 35.5-inch augmented-reality head-up display, a 13-inch driver display, a high centre console, Nappa leather, and Pet and Camping climate modes on the better-equipped trims. Reviewers rate the materials as comparable to the Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake.

Zeekr 7GT vs Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake: worth it against the Germans?

This is where the commercial case gets interesting. Across Europe the 7GT range opens at €45,990 for the Business Edition RWD, rises to €50,990 for the Long Range Launch Edition, and tops out at €57,490 for the Privilege AWD (plus around €1,000 delivery). In Portugal, the official pre-order starts from about €55,450.

For similar money, an equivalent electric Mercedes CLA Shooting Brake offers less range and, above all, much slower charging. The 7GT delivers more battery, more power, and that 480 kW figure no German rival matches today. What you give up is brand history and an established service network — Zeekr is still building its presence in Portugal, and that weighs on resale value and after-sales peace of mind.

For the Portuguese buyer there's also a tax advantage: as a fully electric car, the 7GT is exempt from ISV (Portugal's vehicle purchase tax) and benefits from the reduced IUC road tax that applies to EVs. The choice between the Long Range RWD and the Privilege AWD comes down to the essentials: if you want maximum range at the lower price, stick with rear-wheel drive; if you're after the 3.3 seconds and the top equipment, you pay the AWD premium — knowing you lose nearly 100 km of range in the process.
